Autumn Qi Gong Workshop
Saturday 23rd October 2010, 1.00pm - 5.00pm : £35.00
Develop your understanding and practice of the ancient Chinese art of Qi Gong. This season we focus on the Metal element and its relationship with our body (the lungs and large intestine), and our emotions. The Metal element governs the connection to our spirituality and is associated with the feelings of ‘grief’. If our Metal element is out of balance we can feel ‘blocked’ and lacking in inspiration. This practical workshop introduces Qi Gong exercises to help you rebalance your Metal element, ‘let go’ of any negative feelings, and feel more inspired and alive during this Autumn season!
What Is Qi (Chi)?
This workshop also provides an overview of the concept of ‘Qi’ (Chi), considered in Taoist philosophy and Chinese medicine to be the ‘life-force’, ‘energy’ or ‘flow’ of all things. Chinese medicine and Qi Gong practitioners have identified many different kinds of Qi – that within the human body, that we are born with, and that we absorb during our lives from food, water, air, environment (feng shui) and Qi Gong meditation. You will discover how, through Qi Gong practice, we can connect to the different levels or ‘realms’ of Qi – Qi within others, Qi within nature and the Earth and Qi from the Cosmos or ‘Heaven’.
This workshop is led by David James Lees, an experienced traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, Taoist Master and Qi Gong instructor, who will provide one-to-one tuition and supervision for all participants. You will also receive a detailed ‘Workshop Workbook’ to keep as a record of your afternoon.
Absolute beginners and more advanced students are welcome!
