David Lees practices and teaches non-religious forms of meditation as an important part of his client treatment sessions, and has developed a unique system of creating personalised guided meditations that are bespoke to each client.
David's guided meditations and meditation teaching have helped many clients with a wide range problems, including insomnia, stress, anxiety, depression, self esteem and confidence issues, phobias and addictive behaviours.
The power of meditation is being increasingly acknowledged by research bodies, and most recently the national 'Mental Health Foundation' has indicated that the NHS should prescribe meditation routinely for depression. Many people misunderstand the means and purpose of meditation… it is not just about sitting with crossed legs for hours, trying to think of 'nothingness'; nor does it mean learning complicated or obscure meditation techniques. It is also unfortunate that many religions have seemingly ‘captured' meditation as their own, when in fact meditation is open to everyone.
Meditation allows you to bring yourself back into the ‘centre', stopping your mind/thoughts from racing away without control. Through meditation we can remind ourselves that every life situation, no matter if we have perceived that situation to be good or bad, presents us with a unique opportunity to learn, develop and grow.

With practice, we can connect to our authentic, creative self and our intuition knows that every situation provides us with wonderful, exciting new opportunities to learn from.
You can meditate by simply spending 10-15 minutes a day sitting or lying quietly, contemplating the calm, relaxed middle/centre ground to your current situation, or just the day ahead. Just become aware of your intuition or ‘gut feelings' from this quiet centre place; be mindful of your thoughts, images, feelings, memories; try not to get caught up in the excitement and over-stimulation of the ‘Ego’ thoughts that will enter your mind at the beginning of your practice; just keep returning to the centre in a very relaxed, calm way.
Through meditation we can perform a daily ‘inner cleansing’ of our thoughts. Practice can return us to the authentic alertness, inner attentiveness and mindfulness, which makes it possible for us to interact with ourselves and others in a creative, positive and authentic way. We can let go of old anger and hostility, and any attachment to ‘mental' injuries, unfairness and injustice that we perceive people have done against us.
Just a daily 10-15 minutes of quiet, balanced thinking can help you in so many ways - mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Just try it!
