All our classes are led by David James Lees, a fully insured meditation instructor who has practiced and taught Mindfulness and Qigong meditation in both the UK and China.
David learnt Mindfulness meditation through 18 years of study of Tibetan Buddhism, and was first taught Qigong by Chinese Tibetan Buddhist monks when he was 16 years old. After qualifying as a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner, David developed his meditation practice and trained for a number of years as a Qigong instructor with Doctor Shen in London and Master Wan Su Jain at the Chinese Taoist Medical Qigong Baguaxundaogong Headquarters in Beijing. Under the direction of Master Wan, David was later ordained as a Taoist Master in the sacred Wudang Mountains in the Hubei province of China.
In addition to his extensive knowledge of meditation practices, David also weaves his clinical TCM practice experience into his class sessions, allowing students learn the correct Qigong positions, understand their relationship to the body's 'meridians' and 'channels', and appreciate the benefits of each move for general health and wellbeing.
David wholeheartedly believes in the profound benefits of simple meditation practice, and shares his meditation techniques on a daily basis with private clients to help them tackle symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, and keep positive and focussed in their lives.
